After their win against the Pune Devils, the Bangla Tigers have let their ability speak volumes about their intention to qualify for the semis. However, their next opponents, the Qalandars, aren’t a team to be daunted by that, and are more likely to daunt the Tigers themselves. The Qalandars are yet to lose a single match, and the matches they have won have mostly been comfortable, comprehensive victories. While the Bangla Tigers have some solid talent and will certainly put up a fight, their chances against the Qalandars don’t look good on paper. Before those chances play themselves out on the field, let’s take a look at the two sides.

Bangla Tigers

Predicted XI

Andre Fletcher (c), Afif Hossain, Qais Ahmad, Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, Chirag Suri, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Karim Janat, Matheesha Pathirana, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Tom Moores (wk).

Preview and form

Considering the fact that the Bangla Tigers are currently at fourth place and 2 points ahead of the team behind them, they’re in a pretty decent position. Throw in the fact that their last match will be against the relatively out-of-form Team Abu Dhabi, and one wouldn’t be surprised to see them in the semi finals. In their last match, the Tigers were up against the Pune Devils. Bowling first, a couple of strong spells from Fazalhaq Farooqi and Karim Janat that consisted of just 36 runs and 2 wickets from 4 overs made sure that the Devils could only get to 115. While chasing down the target, the triple efforts of Andre Fletcher (30), Chirag Suri (30), and Tom Moores (38) got them to their goal comfortably, with 8 wickets and 7 deliveries to spare.

BT Key players

  • Andre Fletcher: While the Melbourne Stars will be fuming and muttering obscenities under their breath seeing Andre Fletcher’s performances here, the Tigers are more than happy.

  • Tom Moores: After freeing himself of the shackles of relatively slow innings last match, Moores will be looking to get better performances in.

  • Karim Janat: Talent and consistency are top qualities for any sportsman to have, and Karim Janat has both.

  • Qais Ahmed: Like Janat, Qais Ahmed has been excellent for the Tigers.

Predicted XI

Sohail Akhtar (c), Ahmed Daniyal, Asif Ali, Sultan Ahmed, Tom Banton, Ben Dunk (wk), Chris Jordan, Sharjeel Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir.

Preview and form

What can I say about the Qalandars except that they have been absolute beasts so far? Paying no heed to doubters, they seem to just be steamrolling every opponent they meet. In their last match, they went up against the Maratha Arabians and got similar results. Bowling first, a brilliant 3-for from Sohail Tanvir and economical spells from Chris Jordan and Ahmed Daniyal set them up for a target of only 102, and although they lost wickets at regular intervals, cameos by Sharjeel Khan (28), Ben Dunk (26), and Sohail Akhtar (20) were enough to pull them through with 4 wickets and 11 deliveries to spare.

QAL Key players

  • Sohail Akhtar: The captain had a comparatively poor game last time around, but he will no doubt bounce back.

  • Ben Dunk: The Australian keeper finally seemed to have found form for the first time since the end of the PSL, and we hope he will continue with his hard-hitting ways.

  • Chris Jordan: He may have trouble finding a spot in the English team as of late, but he is definitely doing the job for the Qalandars.

  • Sohail Tanvir: After his 3-for, he will have the confidence to try more things and hopefully obtain more success.

Bangla Tigers vs Qalandars weather conditions and pitch report

While a tiny chance of a short, light drizzle still exists, every other meteorological factor will be very pleasant for cricket.

A pitch that offers something for everyone is rare and prized, and the curators of the Sheikh Zayed Stadium have created something very much like that. As for score predictions, it’s just about impossible to predict the score for T10 games, but we’ll venture a guess at scores of around 120.

Can the Tigers snatch the Qalandars’ unbeaten record from them? Or will the Qalandars just continue their rampage unimpeded? Find out if our Bangla Tigers versus Qalandars predictions come true on Wednesday!
