Kabul Eagles Preview & Form
Kabul Eagles may have stumbled early, but they have come back strong with a win against one of this year’s favourites. After only managing 115 while chasing 172 against Boost Defenders, one would have assumed Mis Ainak Knights’ 163 would be good enough especially given their better bowling lineup. However, some incredible hitting from veteran Noor Ali Zadran and good cameos by a few others saw them best their opponents with an over to spare and four wickets in hand. With a big win secured, they can face the Amo Sharks with plenty of confidence, although they will certainly hope that their bowlers do better.
Amo Sharks Preview & Form
With two losses on the trot, Amo Sharks remain the only team in the Shpageeza yet to get off the mark. In the first match, their bowling was lacking, but in the second, it was both departments. With one of their remaining matches being against the defending champions, they must make the best of the other two games if they want to have any hopes of qualifying. There are some glimmers of hope, though, with Darwish Rasooli and Javed Ahmadi both playing well in their last outing. Additionally, Abdul Wasi was stellar with his leg break. If a few others can join the cause with the same conviction, they stand a decent chance to do well.
Predictions
With their noses smelling a whiff of a potentially good season, Kabul will be coming at Amo with all they’ve got. Expect Samiullah Shinwari and Noor Ali Zadran to use their batting experience, while Zia-ur-Rehman and Nangeyalia Kharote bowl well.
Do cornered sharks fight back? They certainly have the ability to. Expect Abdul Wasi and Hayatullah to star with the ball, while Darwish Rasooli and Javed Ahmadi lead with the bat.
