Barbados Tridents Preview & Form
Ever since their shock loss to the Zouks, Barbados just can’t seem to find their groove. One of those reasons may be the repeated failure of star batsmen Shai Hope and Corey Anderson to really get going. Shai did make 36 in his last match, but it was off 38 balls in a chase for 186, which is unforgivable under the circumstances. At the same time, the bowling doesn’t seem to be clicking either, which explains the massive target the Knight Riders set them. If they are to make a comeback, it needs to be sooner rather than later.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Preview & Form
Things aren’t looking good in the Patriots camp. They have lost all three of their matches so far, and chances of a good run this year are dwindling fast. On top of that, seeing fellow underdogs St Lucia near the top of the table must add insult to injury - especially since their last defeat was against the Zouks. For the Patriots, it’s not just one department that’s lacking, but more a group effort or some more fuel to their fire. The only good thing about the Patriots’ current situation is that they have absolutely nothing to lose.
If they are to win, Barbados need their star players to perform, and thankfully for them, those players are likely to do so. Expect Johnson Charles and Jason Holder to crank it up with the bat, while Raymond Reifer and Ashley Nurse continue their good work with the ball.
If the Patriots don’t want to lose their chances of reaching the playoffs this year, they need to start winning right away. Expect Evin Lewis and Ben Dunk to get their wits together at last, while Sheldon Cottrell and captain Rayad Emrit pick up the necessary wickets.
